I can only wonder what information these paint streaks conveys.

Window to the World No More

Window to the World No More

So many questions.  What did the windoe use to look at?  Who was looking in? why was it filled in?  … and so on.

Big V

Big V

While I was browsing through files, I came across this image, which is rotated ninety degrees from how I captured it.  I found it more interesting and abstract than the original configuration.

U of I OK

U of I OK

Engineers and others repairing roads and utility lines often mark locations and information on the ground with spray paint.  On the campus in Champaign-Urbana, you can often see the message shown here in orange.  I assume that it refers to the condition of some electrical line or such and isn’t just the opinion of some Physical Plant’s employee about the University in General.

Yet Another Corner

Yet Another Corner

It’s hard to believe, but I have resisted the urge to make this a ‘Corner of the Day’ blog.  Corners are just interesting designs to me and I like this one for its simplicity and nearly monochromatic look (the little green plants are a nice contrast).

Sort of like a mirror image in a smokey mirror.

Sigma

Sigma

It’s probably not a Sigma, it’s probably just a ‘3’ that’s upside down.  The blue is from a technique that I started playing with a few years ago.  It makes it look like you’re viewing into a space below the concrete surface.  It’s a neat effect and some day I may figure out a use for it.

Study in Orange

Study in Orange

Monochromatic or near-monochromatic images are always among my favorites.  I don’t think my academic history has any effect, but I like the nearly solid orange color here.  The splash of white adds interest (although I guess I could have looked around for some blue).

Either Real Early or Late

Either Real Easrly or Late

At first I was disappointed that the bike was interfering with the repetitious design, but then I figured that I liked the loneliness of the single bike in an area designed for a large number of them.

A Stop Along the Way

I like the way the metal and the shadows combine.
